So I’ve been listening to a few of the podcasts out there, and here’s what I think.

Music podcasts:

Rant/News/Culture podcasts

  • The Podcast NYC – Pop Culture Rant podcast is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Its just a guy ranting on life in New York / America and his take on pop culture. As rants go, they’re pretty enjoyable, and the personal anecdotes he adds are generally hilarious.
  • The Drooling Fan Boy podcast is probably the exact opposite. In that this guy is speaks in an almost complete m-o-n-o-t-o-n-e voice. He reviews some anime and scifi stuff, mostly Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek: Enterprise, and he generally describes each episode as being “pretty good” without much more elaboration. But, he’s also addictive.. ’cause he’s exactly what a drooling-fan-boy would sound like.
  • Lastly, we’ve got the 2600 podcast. Now, this is the recording of the 2600 radio shows, so its not (in my book) strictly/just a podcast. They have podcasts of both their shows, OffTheHook and OffTheWall. What you get is general discussion of politics/culture and where they intersect technology. And Emmanuel is pretty funny too!
